Our Sunday Morning (wet one)

It's a rainy Sunday here, so we plan on staying indoors for the most part, doing final Halloween/Sanheim decorations. Li'l C will also most likely doodle a bit, and we have some new leaves and gourds from our trip to the Pumpkin farm yesterday to play with.

Nous Sommes Artistes!

At our house of craft, we wanted to dabble in painting on canvas, as a way to try some new artform as well as to create something together. J had it all planned that we would paint a piece together on Valentine's Day, but we weren't able to do it then (damn visa & immigration complications for my sister!), so we sat down over two Fridays and came up with this:

Of course, the slight uneven lines are inevitable with novice painters, and we couldn't believe the strange coincidence that our salt and pepper shakers seemed to act as an inspiration - that was not intentional! Now we're not too sure of our blobs, because we didn't want them to seem human-like, but i love the splash of yellow - it's like a star!

The best part was doing this in partnership with my honey - we had to communicate well and be careful not to mess things up. I think doing something like this with someone else can be a new activity for couples/friends/family who are having a hard time communicating with each other!
