Can i Tell you a Secret?

Here's one of many pictures we took to have on our invites....What invites, you ask? Well, read further and i'll share with you my secret....

I started blogging because i loved all the great sites i saw and learned very quickly that they were both a source of information as well as inspiration. And, since i also have a few cents to share, i thought this would be a great way for me to do so! While i don't always have as much time these days to blog as i did at my old job (and this change is a GOOD thing), i always want to enjoy it when i am on.

Having said that, my partner and i have decided to write a blog together - and to share with our friends, family, and bloggers alike our great news! We are, well, let's just say we're having a Celebration in July. What traditionally is called a wedding is something i cringe at - for reasons i won't get into here. But i love him deeply and i really am excited about planning our Celebration - if he had his way, it would be called a Lovefest!

So, since i'm semi-crafty and have time (weekends!) to plan a big party, we have decided to do a lot of the work ourselves. That means i can make excuses for buying Martha Stewart Weddings and watching I Do, Now Let's Eat! We have made some progress, and i love all the prep and options i have at my fingertips. We made our own invites, and will be decorating the room ourselves - i have Lots of ideas - and also launched our blog. So, my little secret is that i have 2 blogs - this one and one that will lead us up to The Big Day, the Celebration, the Lovefest, the Party, the Union Ceremony - oh, who am i kidding, the Wedding!

So, if you'd like to know more about my crazy antics, check out island celebration!

That's so exciting! I wish for you a fun celebration and a wonderful, happy, healthy life together.

I saw the Island Celebration site yesterday, after you used that login to comment on another blog. It looks like it'll be amazing and special.

yay!! congratulations to you and joel! i love that you are doing the wedding/lovefest YOUR way and not being swayed by society's ideas of what a wedding "should" be. reading your new blog i could relate to so much...we also chose to have a mostly-nontraditional wedding. here's a secret: we also did the vegetarian food thing and i *swear* 2 yrs later our meat-eating families still rave about what an amazing meal it was. good luck with all of your planning... sounds like you're having fun with it! i'll be checking the new blog for updates!! :)
